Recent News Stories - Spring HWC Current Events Quiz

Can you believe we start class together on Wednesday?  As you know, you'll be taking a quiz on the major news stories from November 1, 2017 until January 21, 2018 on the first day of class.  Remember, you are permitted to use a journal/notes IF you have a paper copy with you in class.  You will not be permitted to leave the room to print or to use your i-Pad.

I'm sure you all have extensive notes but I thought you might appreciate some hints to narrow your options:

  • Net Neutrality
  • Tax Reform
  • Government shutdown
  • California wildfires
  • Rohingya crisis
  • German government
  • Earthquake in Iraq & Iran
  • Saudi anti-corruption purges
  • Death at war crimes trial
  • Zimbabwe political developments
  • Israeli capital
  • Volcanic eruption in Indonesia
  • North Korea provocations
  • Russian Olympics ban
  • Water crisis in Cape Town, South Africa
  • Flu outbreak
  • Be sure you know the leader of major world states, international organizations, and American political leaders!
Although the list above is not all encompassing, it should give you a good start.  If you think I missed anything, please don't hesitate to post your ideas as comments to this post.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all first thing in the morning on Wednesday!
