"Nuclear" in the News

Many older coal and nuclear plants have been shut down due to the influx of cheap natural gas. This influx of cheap natural gas and the rapid rise of renewable energy has transformed the nation's power sector, which is the leading catalyst to the deterioration of these coal and nuclear power plants. However, in September, Energy Secretary Mr. Perry had proposed an idea to subsidize struggling coal and nuclear plants, yet his proposal was rejected due to the fact that it was a major hit to the Trump administration's efforts to revive America's declining coal industry.
