Amazon opened its Amazon Go store to the public in Seattle. The technologically advanced store features automated checkout, where customers leave the store through gates that automatically change what they take out the door. New computer vision and machine learning software allows it to see and identify every item in the store. Overall, this new technology may change the role of employees. An interesting possibility is that Amazon incorporates this technology inside Whole Foods stores which it acquired in 2017.
