"Technology" in the News

Williams, Alex. “Will Robots Take Our Children’s Jobs?” The New York Times, The New York Times, 11 Dec. 2017, www.nytimes.com/2017/12/11/style/robots-jobs-children.html.

Overtime, technology has continued to develop, causing less of a demand of specific jobs being conquered by new machinery and programs. Computers are smart though at the same time, can be dumb when it comes to doing what it wants you to do. “The computers simply freed the humans from mind-numbing work like counting out 20-dollar bills to focus on more cognitively demanding tasks” shows that technology advancement became extremely beneficial to humans in improving the speed of their work. In many jobs, thinking creatively is prominent, though programming computers to do that is extremely difficult. The capabilities that computers have is very limited and may take over some jobs, but do not have the human characteristics to do the job.
